// EDGE Conference Code of Conduct

To help provide a productive and safe environment for conference attendees, this EDGE Conference Code of Conduct (“Code”) outlines the minimum conduct expectations for all individuals (including attendees, exhibitors, sponsors, staff, contractors, volunteers, and other guests, collectively referred to as “Attendees”) who attend the EDGE Conference.

By attending the EDGE Conference, you agree to follow this Code. EDGE intends for the provisions of this Code to be compliant with and construed in accordance with applicable law.

The Quick Version

EDGE is dedicated to providing a safe, harassment-free, and disruption-free conference for our Attendees. EDGE does not tolerate harassment, unapproved action, or disruptive conduct in any form of or by Attendees. Attendees violating this Code may be sanctioned or expelled from the conference without a refund at EDGE’s discretion.

The Full Version

Unacceptable Behavior

Attendees should not engage in unacceptable behavior, which includes:

  • Harassment, intimidation, or discrimination in any form.
  • Verbal abuse of any Attendee or EDGE Conference or venue staff.
  • Examples of verbal abuse, threatening behavior, and harassment including, but are not limited to, comments related to gender, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, religion, national origin, inappropriate use of nudity and/or sexual images in public spaces or in presentations, or threatening or stalking any Attendee or EDGE Conference or venue staff.
  • Disruptive, threatening, or violent behavior, including, but not limited to, behavior that disturbs, interferes with, or prevents normal work functions or activities, yelling, using profanity, physical actions, threats to people or property, and specific or implicit threats to inflict harm.
  • Disruption of presentations during sessions, in the EDGE vendor hall, or at other events organized by EDGE throughout the EDGE Conference. All Attendees must comply with the instructions of the moderator and any EDGE Conference staff.
  • Recording video or sound or taking photographs of speakers during the EDGE Conference without prior consent from EDGE.
  • Presentations, postings, and messages should not contain promotional materials, special offers, job offers, product announcements, or solicitation for services. EDGE reserves the right to remove such messages and potentially ban sources of those solicitations.
  • Attendees should refrain from posting content online and via social media that might defame, negatively affect, or otherwise cause harm to individuals or institutions.

Consequences for Unacceptable Behavior

Attendees who are asked to stop their behavior will be expected to comply immediately. If an Attendee continues to violate this Code, EDGE may take whatever actions it deems appropriate, including removing the Attendee from the EDGE Conference without refund, barring the Attendee from attending future EDGE events, notifying the Attendee’s employer, and/or notifying on-premises security or local law enforcement, as necessary.

Reporting Unacceptable Behavior

Violations of this Code are taken seriously. Please promptly report any concerns about inappropriate conduct to EDGE staff present at the event.

If you or someone else is in immediate danger, or if you see something suspicious or would like to report a security issue or emergency, please contact the EDGE Conference event venue security or local law enforcement.
